The Maritime Provinces, located in Eastern Canada, are Prince Edward Island, Nova Scotia, and New Brunswick. While only nine current NHL players come from the Maritimes, the provinces have provided seven active members of the NHL’s officiating staff.
Referees Tim Peel, Chris Lee, Jean Hebert, and Ghislain Hebert are from New Brunswick. Referees Jon McIsaac and Gord Dwyer, along with linesman Matt MacPherson, hail from Nova Scotia.
