Eight teams are moving on to the second round of the 2016 Stanley Cup Playoffs. Now 12 referees and 12 linesmen will join them. Here are the NHL’s officials working the second round of the 2016 Stanley Cup Playoffs.
Francis Charron, Gord Dwyer, Eric Furlatt, Jean Hebert, Steve Kozari, Chris Lee, Wes McCauley, Dan O’Halloran, Dan O’Rourke, Kevin Pollock, Kelly Sutherland, and Brad Watson.
Standby referees are Frederick L’Ecuyer and Francois St. Laurent
Derek Amell, Steve Barton, Scott Cherrey, Michel Cormier, Greg Devorski, Brad Kovachik, Steve Miller, Brian Murphy, Jonny Murray, Derek Nansen, Pierre Racicot, and Jay Sharrers
Standby linesmen for the second round are Ryan Galloway and Matt MacPherson.
Referee Francis Charron is making his Round 2 debut. He worked Game 7 between the Blackhawks and Blues alongside Wes McCauley. Jean Hebert has also made it out of the first round for the first time, after making his playoff debut last season.
Gone are Dave Jackson, Marc Joannette, Frederick L’Ecuyer, Brad Meier, Tim Peel, Chris Rooney, Francois St. Laurent, and Ian Walsh. Joannette and Rooney both made it to the second round last year.
Linesmen who’ve been eliminated are David Brisebois, Scott Driscoll, Ryan Galloway, Shane Heyer, Matt MacPherson, Tim Nowak, Brian Pancich, and Mark Shewchyk. Heyer’s a bit of a surprise, having worked the last three Stanley Cup Finals. This is Driscoll’s second straight first-round exit after working the 2014 Stanley Cup Final.
Congratulations to the officials selected for the second round of the NHL’s 2016 Stanley Cup Playoffs!
