From the ECHL:
The ECHL and its member teams mourn the loss and express their condolences to the family and friends of linesman Camden Nuckols, who passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday following a brief illness at the age of 25.
Nuckols worked as an ECHL linesman in Orlando for the previous three seasons, working a total of 61 regular-season games and two playoff games.
In addition to working as an ECHL official, Nuckols won a Florida state hockey championship as a teenager and officiated collegiate and Orlando Youth Hockey Association tournaments.
All ECHL on-ice officials will wear Nuckols’ jersey number “32” on their helmets for the remainder of the 2015-16 season.
The Orlando Solar Bears released the following statement:
“It was a difficult day when we learned of Camden’s passing. He was a terrific young man – always smiling, always positive. He took a tremendous amount of pride in his job on the ice. He will be sorely missed, as we have lost a member of our hockey family. Our thoughts and prayers are with his mother and father.”
The Solar Bears will remember Camden with a moment of silence prior to puck drop before their game on November 24, 2015.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to the friends and families of Camden Nuckols.
