Ryan Reaves of the St. Louis Blues laid out Los Angeles Kings center Anze Kopitar with a dangerous hit up hit in Tuesday’s game between the two clubs.
Kopitar, who was injured on the play, may miss some time.
Reaves will not, as he’s avoided a suspension for the play. The Blues winger has been fined $3,024.19, the maximum allowable under the CBA, for his hit.
With 8:08 remaining in the first period, Reaves appeared to hit Kopitar with the butt-end of his stick. Kopitar went down and was slow to get up. He returned for a few more shifts in the period, but did not return for the second period.
No penalty was called on the play by referees Dean Morton and Kevin Pollock.
