It’s never fun when you’re sent to the penalty box. Just don’t make it worse for yourself.
Defenseman Niclas Burstrom of Skelleftea in the Swedish Hockey League did just that. In a penalty-filled second period, Burstrom was called for cross-checking, putting his team down two men. Frustrated, he kicked the boards on his way to the penalty box. Bad idea.
