The San Jose Sharks bring us the first ref-cam of the offseason. Here’s a look at their recent prospect scrimmage from the zebras’ point of view.
Some highlights:
- 0:50 – The game’s first penalty call. For this one, the penalty boxes stayed empty. Instead of two-minute minors, penalty shots were handed out for infractions.
- 1:10 – “I got it, I got it,” says the ref as goaltender Liam Herbst loses the puck in his skates after the whistle.
- 1:20 – The ever elusive broken stick goal.
- 2:37 – The ref offers some words of support to linesman Mark Parshutkin.
- 2:40 – Forward Caston Sommer spots the camera
- 4:50 – The referee warns the bench, “Careful with the line change, boys.”
Thanks to the San Jose Sharks and to the officials for this excellent look at their prospect scrimmage.
