AHL Announces Referees and Linesmen for Calder Cup Final

The AHL has announced the five referees and six linesmen working the 2016 Calder Cup Final between the Lake Erie Monsters and the Hershey Bears.   Embed from Getty Images   Referees Tom Chmielewski (#43), Terry Koharski (#10), Jon McIsaac (#45), Kendrick Nicholson (#44), Garrett Rank (#48) Koharski is refereeing his eighth straight Calder Cup final, a run that includes Hershey Bears championships in 2009 and 2010. No Icing Late In Game One Was Right Call by Linesmen

No Suspension for Sharks’ Marleau After Rust Hit

San Jose Sharks forward Patrick Marleau will not have a hearing for a hit to the head of Pittsburgh’s Bryan Rust in Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Final. The veteran winger will avoid a fine or suspension for the play. Marleau was given a two-minute minor for an Illegal Check to the Head by referees Dan O’Rourke and Dan O’Halloran with 15:13 to play in the third period.  Rust left the ice to be evaluated by the Pittsburgh medical staff. NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman held his annual State of the League address prior to Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Final.
