NHL Fines Hanzal, Kadri, Yakupov For Diving

The NHL has fined three players in the latest round of diving citations.  Arizona’s Martin Hanzal, Toronto’s Nazem Kadri (twice!), and Edmonton’s Nail Yakupov are the latest to be hit with fines for embellishment.  Martin Hanzal Hanzal was warned after a December 6 game against the Carolina Hurricanes. His second dive – which resulted in the $2,000 fine – came midway through the first period of the Coyotes’ March 12 game against the Edmonton Oilers. Panthers Penalized Twice For Rats On Ice

If an arena gives something away to fans, there’s chance it will end up on the ice. During dollar hot dog night in Philly, a flying frank landed on the playing surface late in the game. That was nothing compared to the deluge of rodents from last night’s game between the New Jersey Devils and the Florida Panthers.
