Linesman Ryan Galloway Injured By Puck to Head

Sometimes you’re just in the wrong place at the wrong time.  Despite his best efforts to avoid the play, linesman Ryan Galloway was hit with the puck in Tuesday night’s game between the San Jose Sharks and the Minnesota Wild. Early in the third period, Sharks defenseman Justin Braun’s breakout pass deflected off Matt Nieto’s stick and right into the side of Galloway’s head. Your browser does not support iframes. Referee Dean Morton Hit, Remains in Game

Tampa Bay Lightning forward Ondrej Palat was given credit for a hit on this play.  Unfortunately, referee Dean Morton was the one who unintentionally got the body on Montreal Canadiens’ defenseman Sergei Gonchar. As the two players head behind the net, Palat gives Gonchar a shove right into Morton, who jumps to try to get out of the way.  To make matters worse, both Gonchar and Morton were clipped by Palat’s stick.  (You really can’t blame Morton for missing that call.)
