Lightning Lose Go-Ahead Goal to Questionable Interference Call

The Tampa Bay Lightning are having a rough series.  Playing without their number one goaltender, they dropped the first two games at home.  Coming into Sunday night’s game, they’d led for just 3:34 of the 138:08 played so far in the series. They looked to take the lead for the first time on Sunday night.  Only, the go-ahead goal didn’t count.  Referee Francis Charron immediately waved it off when the puck crossed the line. Blackhawks’ Seabrook Suspended for Three Games

Chicago Blackhawks defenseman Brent Seabrook may miss the remainder of the opening round playoff series against the St. Louis Blues.  He’ll sit for the next three games for his illegal hit on Blues forward David Backes.   Seabrook was given a five-minute major and a game misconduct. The Blues scored the game-tying goal on the resulting man advantage, then went on to win in overtime. Backes did not return. Bruins’ Lucic Fined $5000 for Spearing Red Wings’ DeKeyser

Boston’s Milan Lucic took a nasty cheap shot on Detroit’s Danny DeKeyser, but he won’t miss any time for it. The NHL’s Department of Player Safety has laid down the law with a whopping $5,000 fine for the unpenalized incident. With Boston trailing 1-0, the gritty Bruins winger took out his frustrations on the Wings blueliner.  Specifically, by targeting a sensitive area below his belt. Cross your legs and cringe.
