Linesman Steve Miller left Wednesday night’s game between the Minnesota Wild and Toronto Maple Leafs after being hit by a puck.
Early in the third period, Leafs defenseman Roman Polak dumped the puck into the offensive zone. His blast unfortunately caught Miller in the knee, sending him to the ice in pain.
Miller was attended to by medical trainers from both teams before being helped off the ice.
Referees Kelly Sutherland and Kevin Pollock finished the game with lone linesman Greg Devorski.
There’s no word on Miller’s status or the extent of his injury.
UPDATE: Michael Russo reports that Miller is not expected to miss any time
