The NHL’s Department of Player Safety handed down their rulings after an incident between the Colorado Avalanche’s Gabriel Landeskog and the Boston Bruins’ Brad Marchand.
Both players have been issued supplemental discipline as a result of their altercation. Landeskog has been suspended two games for an illegal check to the head. Marchand has been fined $5,000 for a retaliatory punch on Landeskog.
The play happened at 5:46 of the second period of Thursday night’s game. Landeskog was given a match penalty for illegal check to the head. Marchand was given a two minute minor for roughing. Referees for the game were Graham Skilliter and Chris Rooney.

The NHL Players’ Emergency Fund is $64k richer today. Landeskog forfeits $59,907.84 of salary to go along with Marchand’s $5,000 fine.
